Who we are

DoorAli is a cash property buying business operating across the North West of England. We work through professional referrals from estate agents, letting agents, auctioneers and other property professionals.

For the purposes of UK data protection law, DoorAli is the data controller in respect of personal data we receive and process. You can contact us at acquisitions@doorali.co.uk.

What data we collect and where it comes from

We receive personal data through three routes:

  • Referring professionals — contact details (name, email, phone), agency or firm name, and property information they share with us when making a referral.
  • Sellers referred to us — name, contact details, property address, situation details, tenure, and any other information relevant to assessing a potential purchase. This data is passed to us by the referring professional, not directly by the seller.
  • Website enquiries — name, email address and phone number submitted via the contact form on our website by property professionals wishing to get in touch.

This website does not use analytics or tracking cookies. No third-party analytics or advertising scripts are loaded. The only data we hold about website visitors is what you voluntarily submit through one of the forms above.

Why we use your data and our legal basis

We process personal data for the following purposes:

  • Assessing whether a referred property is a suitable acquisition for DoorAli.
  • Communicating with the referring professional throughout the introduction, offer and completion process.
  • Instructing solicitors and progressing a transaction once an offer has been accepted.
  • Maintaining records of referrals and completed transactions for business and compliance purposes.

Our legal basis for processing is legitimate interests: it is in our legitimate interest, and in the interest of the referring professional and their client, to process the data necessary to evaluate and progress a property transaction. Where required, we rely on contract as our legal basis during and after completion.

Who we share data with

We do not sell or pass personal data to third parties for marketing purposes. We may share data only where necessary to progress a transaction:

  • Our solicitors and conveyancers, to progress the legal elements of a purchase.
  • Surveyors or structural specialists, where a property inspection is required.
  • Any other professional whose involvement is needed to complete the transaction and who has been disclosed to the referring agent.

How long we keep your data

Where a referral does not proceed to offer or completion, we retain basic contact and property details for up to 12 months, in case the same or a similar opportunity arises again.

Where a transaction completes, we retain the full transaction record for 7 years in line with standard UK property and financial record-keeping requirements.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

  • Access — to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — to ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure — to ask us to delete your data where there is no longer a lawful basis to hold it.
  • Restriction — to ask us to limit how we use your data while a dispute or request is resolved.
  • Objection — to object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Portability — to receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format where processing is automated and based on consent or contract.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at acquisitions@doorali.co.uk. We will respond within one calendar month.

Complaints

If you believe we have handled your data unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.

We would always appreciate the opportunity to address any concern directly before a complaint is escalated, so please contact us in the first instance.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date at the top of this page.
